What is La Palabra de Vida Christian School (LPDV)?

La Palabra de Vida is a Christian bilingual school in Costa Rica for NATIONAL STUDENTS and their families (Costa Rican and other Latin American families comprise 98% of the student population).  LPDV was founded for the purpose of developing the spiritual, intellectual, social and physical areas of the lives of young people in Costa Rica.

The supremacy of Christ in all areas of life and learning, and the recognition of the Bible as God’s direct communication with humanity, comprise the principal focal points for LPDV.

Our Mission:
"Glorify God by serving the community,
offering an excellent integrated Christ-centered bilingual education
to form leaders who glorify God in every area of their lives.”

LPDV is member school of the  Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI), and is an affiliated national ministry with the Latin America Mission.  The school is also accredited by the Costa Rican Ministry of Education.

LPDV School was founded in 1996 with a group of forty seventh graders and has grown into a complete PK-11 institution with an approximate enrollment of 400 in school year 2005, and a projected maximum student population of 525 in year 2010.

What is Unique about La Palabra de Vida Christian School?

LPDV students come from Costa Rican and other Latin American families who seek to provide their children with a Christian bilingual alternative to public school education in Costa Rica.

About half of the students come from evangelical Christian homes; most of the rest come from Roman Catholic backgrounds.  This provides a unique opportunity to share the Bible’s Good News of Christ’s gift of salvation, and help promote spiritual growth in our student body.

Our students are provided a Christ-honoring learning environment that includes extracurricular activities, a strong Bible-centered integrated academic curriculum, and an emphasis on English as a second language.

The school operates on the Costa Rican school year schedule:  Classes run from early February to early December, with a three week break in July.
