What do we believe?

~  Being an inter-denominational ministry, staff and faculty,  as members of the Body of Christ, should be:

“united in the essentials
provided liberty in the non-essentials
and in all things, always demonstrating love for one another.”

Below are the essentials concerning our Christian faith upheld by our national governing board:

1.  The Bible  We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are given by the inspiration of God, and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. ( II Timothy 3:16,17; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:19-21)

2.  God  We believe in one God--the Creator and Ruler of the universe, existing in divine and incomprehensible Trinity--the Father; the Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit. ( II Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19; John 14:26; John 15:26; I Peter 1:12)

3.  Sin  We believe that our first parents, Adam and Eve, were created holy and upright; that they fell from this condition; and that as a consequence every member of the human race is sinful and deserving of eternal separation from God. ( Romans 5:12; Genesis 1:27,28,31; Ecclesiastes 7:29; Ephesians 2:1-5)

4.  Salvation  We believe in the incarnation, death, and bodily resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus Christ; and that salvation is attained only through repentance of our sins, and faith in Him.  Only by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in our place can we regain a holy and upright condition and an eternal relationship with God. ( John 1:1-14 I Corinthians 15:3 Acts 4:10-12)

5.  Sanctification  A Christian--a follower of Christ--is a transformed individual, indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  However, the sin-nature remains for as long as the Christian lives within his physical body.  Because of this, a Christian must work to constantly subject himself to Christ and to God's Word.  This is not for the purpose of gaining or retaining salvation, but a product of it and in obedience to God's command.  ( II Corinthians 5:17; I Peter 1:23; Titus3:5; Galatians 5:22,23; John 15:10)
